Changing Deckchairs.
The best Agent I ever had (and indeed made the huge mistake of leaving, not just once, but twice) was the lovely Bryan Drew. He took me straight from RADA and was the only one who ever had a plan for my career and without him I would never have had the success I had - I owe him an enormous debt of gratitude. In the business we say that changing Agents is like changing deckchairs on the Titanic - but in Bryan's case he was certainly the most comfortable, generous, honest and helpful support I ever encountered.

I just wanted to say "hi". Hi. Another fan of yours from Raffles and OWIL. I was watching Rising Damp and thought how good you was in that. I feel I've known you for 40 years! :-)
Yay! A new blog entry! Hope there will be more!
I loved Raffles. I just wished Yorkshire television made more as there was so much material they could have used for the programme. I cannot fault the programme. I guess that was when you had the break you needed to really make a good living out of the profession. Please wright more blogs.....
Just happend to be looking for some British television from home. And thinking about some of the television I used to watch. Raffles and Only When I Laugh. typed your name and there you were . Thank you so much. Best Wishes x
I don't know if this blog is active anymore, but I just wanted to express some gratitude towards you. I read the Raffles books recently and fell in love, and then I found the TV series and fell head over heels for your and Valentine's portrayal of Bunny and Raffles, and for the wonderful humour and wit of the series. It has been a great comfort to me - it fills me with such joy every time I watch an episode (and I have watched them several times over already...). So thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing my sweet Bunny to life <3
On a different note, I find both you and Valentine very inspiring when it comes to acting. I'm an actor myself and I find it so inspiring and comforting watching actors that I admire, so thank you for that too.
I hope you are well, and if you see this, then lots of love to you.

I have admired your work since seeing you in 'Raffles', Christopher, then 'Only When I Laugh'. But, this is only a small portion of your talents. I have thrilled at seeing you doing Shakespeare. Loved your appearance in Victoria Wood's sketch! You are one of our greatest actors who has gone way too unnoticed by many people. I love the nuances and layers of your acting. So many qualities. You can speak with those beautiful eyes. You can be hilarious or deadly serious. You have been my favourite actor since the 70s. Just want to say, I love you, Christopher. I would love to write a book about you but I know you value your privacy. I respect that. I hope you are happy and enjoying life. Stay safe. I hope you will read
this. With lots of love, Sandra.
